I have no interest in defending Trump. I did not vote for him, I am not a supporter. But the simple fact is that he is not going anywhere anytime soon. Even if some smoking gun were found tomorrow, it would still take months for investigations and impeachment proceedings to play out. I would suggest, then, that while we can choose to be watchdogs, it is best to keep calm and tone down any heated rhetoric. Even if an impeachment worthy scandal errupts, the process will be unpleasant. I remember the impeachment of Bill Clinton; in the end I did not find it to be worth it. While we were focused on a blue dress and the meaning of "is", al Qaeda was declaring war and preparing 9/11. Yet, at the time, I found that I could not just "let go" of the possibility that Clinton had lied under oath, regardless of what that lie was about.
Be a watchdog if you must, but keep calm and carry on.
